CEREAL CHEVRO FEWER CALORIES

This Cereal Chevro recipe is my family favourite cereals. You can use any combination of cereals to suit your family taste buds. Perfect for Diwali

FEWER CALORIES YET ALL THE SPICE!

INGREDIENTS:

500g Corn Flakes

375g Bran Flakes

375g Fitness cereal

375g Rice Crispies

1 bowl peanuts roasted in a little oil

1 bowl of almonds halved and roasted in oil

5-6 green chillies sliced and fried in little oil until dry

5-6 dry red chillies

1-2 tsp mustard seeds

1-2 tsp cumin seeds

2 tsp sesame seeds

2 tsp dry coriander

8 -10 curry leaves

cinnamon and cloves to your taste

salt, sugar, chilli powder, turmeric to your taste

5-6 tablespoons of sunflower oil

METHOD:

  1. In a large mixing bowl open and mix all the cereals, add the peanuts, almonds, green chillies, salt, chilli powder, sugar, turmeric and mix together.

  2. Heat the oil in a pan. Add to the hot oil mustard seeds, cumin seeds, sesame seeds, dry coriander, curry leaves, cinnamon and cloves and allow to sizzle and pop.

  3. Immediately add this to the prepared cereal mixture. Now keep tossing and mixing and you will also see the colour changing with all the spices.


Allow to cool before storing in an airtight container.
