TROPICAL BARFI - Coconut & Mango

TROPICAL BARFI - Fresh Coconut & Mango flavour simply melts in your mouth!

Suitable for Fasting and to offer as Prashad during festivals

Makes approximately 10-12 pieces


1/2 cup Mango pulp

1 1/2 cup Coconut - I used fresh grated coconut

1/3 cup sugar

1/2 cup milk

a few strands of saffron

a dash of nutmeg

1 tsp of cardamom ground

For garnishing you can choose from pistachios, rose petals, almonds


  1. In a heavy pan dry roast the coconut on medium heat until it is a golden brown colour.

  2. Add all other ingredients into the pan and stir continuously until the mixture thickens, approx 15-20 minutes.

  3. Grease a tray and spread the mixture evenly. Sprinkle the garnish and leave to set in the fridge.

  4. Cut into small pieces before serving.
