SAFFRON INFUSED CHAI

A comforting Indian Tea which has subtle flavours from the saffron strands I find it perfect for chilling with in the afternoon on my balcony. Just love the saffron & cardamom aroma!

After the chai I indulged into Rose Mint by Banarasi Mint, delicious sweet rose petal balls with mint and coconut.

Serves 2


INGREDIENTS:


Saffron strands

1 tsp Cardamom powder

2 tbsp Loose tea leaves

1/2 cup Water

1 cup Milk (full fat)

1-2 tbsp Sugar (as per your taste)



METHOD:


Take 8-10 strands of saffron and put place it in a cup with 2 tbs of the milk (preferably warm) leave aside.

Boil the water in a heavy saucepan add the sugar, tea leaves and cardamom let it boil for about minutes.

Add the saffron immersed in milk and add rest of the milk simmer for 2 minutes, allow flavours to blend and enjoy the aroma. Strain the tea before serving

Serve hot and enjoy your chai!
